Expect additional traffic notices as improvements continue

CLEVELAND – On April 16, 2018, the City will move to the next phase of the North Marginal Road (including Western) and South Marginal Road Rehabilitation Project. A section of North Marginal Road will be closed between Lorain Road and West 89th Street. Traffic will be directed as follows:

    • To access I-90 westbound, follow the detour west on Lorain Road, then northbound on West Boulevard.
    • To access westbound North Marginal Road, follow the detour west on Lorain Road, then northbound on West 98th Street, then eastbound on Willard Avenue, then southbound on West 89th Street.

The duration of the detour is expected to last approximately six weeks.

The North & South Marginal Roads Rehabilitation Project will improve approximately 0.97 miles of roadway, including Western Boulevard, North and South Marginal Roads, and West 89th Street. Work includes full and partial-depth pavement repair and asphalt resurfacing; concrete pavement replacement; concrete curb, sidewalk and aprons where necessary; new ADA ramps, added green space and storm water quality features; and new pavement markings to include bicycle facilities. The work will take place during daytime hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The project is scheduled for completion by February 2019.

Should there be any questions, please contact the City of Cleveland Chief Inspector, Traci Hartnett Mercado at 216-857-5447.

Editor’s Note: Road construction invariably presents hazards to the public. All travelers are urged to use caution in construction zones. Public safety and the safety of workers is a top priority.
