City of Cleveland Recognizes the Efforts of its Safety Telecommunicators

CLEVELAND – Mayor Frank G. Jackson and Director of Public Safety, Michael McGrath announce the Cleveland Department of Public Safety will celebrate National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week the week of April 8th – 14th, 2018.

“Often times, the first interaction a resident has in an emergency situation is with a telecommunicator. They are crucial to saving lives and making sure callers receive the highest quality of care," said Mayor Frank G. Jackson. "Their service to the City of Cleveland is valuable and greatly appreciated. Thank you, telecommunicators."

This event, sponsored by the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials International is celebrated annually and honors the thousands of men and women who answer emergency calls, dispatch emergency professionals and equipment and render life-saving assistance to citizens around the world.

The Association of Public Safety Communications Officials is the largest organization of public safety communications professionals.  It serves the needs of public safety communications practitioners worldwide by providing complete expertise, professional development, technical assistance, advocacy and outreach.
