North Moreland Boulevard & Shaker Square
(City of Cleveland - Ward 4)

Expect additional traffic notices as work progresses

CLEVELAND – Dominion Energy Ohio’s gas pipeline infrastructure improvements begin on Monday, April 23, 2018 and include work on the following street:

    • Shaker Square (northeast corner) – from Shaker Boulevard to North Moreland Boulevard
    • North Moreland Boulevard – from Shaker Square to Larchmere Boulevard
    • Kemper Road – from Larchmere Boulevard to Ardoon Avenue
    • Ardoon Avenue – from Kemper Road to Haddam Road
    • Cormere Avenue – from Kemper Road to Haddam Road
    • Haddam Road – from the north City of Cleveland corporation line to the south City of Cleveland corporation line

The project scope is to replace the old steel mainline with new plastic mainline in the sidewalk area. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times throughout the work zone with traffic control personnel in the work zone directing traffic. A law enforcement officer will be present at all signalized intersections and for the work around Shaker Square. Access to adjacent driveways will be maintained throughout construction and the work will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The work within Shaker Square will take place under the existing parking areas at the northeast corner of Shaker Square. Any trench excavations will be covered with steel road plates and secured in place with steel pins after each day’s work to allow for parking around the square to resume. The permanent road restorations at this location will begin immediately following the pipe installation around Shaker Square to minimize impact to local businesses and residents.

This project is scheduled for completion including restoration in July 2018.

Editor’s Note: Road construction invariably presents hazards to the public. All travelers are urged to use caution in construction zones. Public safety and the safety of workers is a top priority.
