Traffic Update
Friday, June 9, 2017
Brookpark Road to IR-71

Expect additional traffic notices as improvements continue

CLEVELAND – On June 9, 2017 as a part of the City’s ongoing road improvements and upgrades, a new traffic pattern will be implemented on Pearl Road from State Road to Wetzel Road, south of I-480 to Brookpark Road.

Traffic will remain one lane in each direction. Two-way traffic shall be maintained.  Motorists will need to be alert for lane shifts and barrels used to direct traffic. This change will remain in place until July 2017.

This project extends along 2.95 miles of Pearl Road from Brookpark Road to IR-71.  The improvement includes asphalt milling, pavement base repair, asphalt resurfacing, installation of ADA compliant ramps, curb and sidewalk replacement as needed, water main installation, and new pavement markings and new streetscape between State Road and Wildlife Way. The construction cost is $9.4 million.  This project is scheduled for completion in December 2017.

If you have any questions please contact City of Cleveland Chief Inspector, Traci Hartnett-Mercado at 216-244-5636.

Editor’s Note: Road construction invariably presents hazards to the public. All travelers are urged to use caution in construction zones. Public safety and the safety of workers is a top priority.
