(City of Cleveland Ward 3)

CLEVELAND – On July 9, 2018, at 6 p.m., the City of Cleveland will begin the Superior Avenue Resurfacing Project from West 9th Street to Public Square.

To minimize disruptions to the travelling public, the project will be performed in phases. Phase I will be the West 9th/Huron intersection. Phase II will be West 6th to Public Square. Law enforcement will provide traffic control during milling and paving operations. Temporary work zones will be established during the day. Access to all abutting businesses will be maintained. Electronic message boards will be placed on either end of the project informing the public of the impending construction work.

The Superior Avenue Resurfacing Project extends from West 9th Street to Public Square. The improvements include asphalt resurfacing, base repairs, casting adjustments, spot curb repairs, installation of Americans with Disabilities Act compliant ramps, and new pavement markings. Major paving operations will take place during nighttime hours from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. All other operations will be performed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The entire project should be completed by September 2018.

Should there be any questions, please contact the City of Cleveland’s Chief Inspector, Traci Hartnett-Mercado at 216-857-5447.

Editor’s Note: Road construction invariably presents hazards to the public. All travelers are urged to use caution in construction zones. Public safety and the safety of workers is a top priority.
