Madison Avenue Rehabilitation Traffic Advisory

On September 4, 2018, the City will begin street improvements with the Madison Avenue Rehabilitation Project from West 117th Street to West Boulevard. Phase I of the project will include all work items on the westbound, north side of the roadway while West 117th Street to West Boulevard. Eastbound traffic will be maintained and westbound traffic will be rerouted north on West Boulevard; west on Detroit Avenue and then south on West 117th Street. Access to all residential and commercial institutions will be maintained.Phase I work is expected to be completed in November 2018.

The length of the Madison Avenue Rehabilitation Project is approximately 4,000 feet stretching from West 117th Street to West Boulevard. The improvements include new pavement, drainage, asphalt resurfacing and installation of Americans with Disabilities Act compliant ramps, curbs sidewalks, new pavement markings, traffic and pedestrian crossing signal upgrades. The work will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
