Parking is in high demand due to growing number of West Side Market and Ohio City visitors

CLEVELAND – The City of Cleveland has announced that paid parking will begin in the West Side Market lot within the next month. As the West Side Market and Ohio City continue to grow in popularity, the new parking structure will relieve parking congestion and improve the overall customer experience of visitors.

The parking lot will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Anyone parking between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. will receive 90 minutes of free parking. After 90 minutes, parkers will pay a nominal fee of $1/hour. The 90 minutes free is only from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. After 6:00 p.m. parkers will be required to pay $1.00 per hour. Local Ohio City businesses helped the City of Cleveland establish the fees for paid parking.

For their convenience, parkers may pay by credit card at the columns as they exit each lot or by cash or credit at the Pay on Foot machine. When visitors enter the parking area, they will be required to take a ticket. Parkers are asked to take their tickets to the machine to pay. After the new parking machines are installed, parkers will need their paid ticket to exit the lot.

Previous improvements as part of the West Side Market parking project include an increase of more than 100 spaces and added lighting.
