Pipeline Infrastructure Improvements Update

Expect additional traffic notices as work progresses

CLEVELAND –   Pipeline infrastructure improvements begin on Monday, July 31, 2017 and include work on the following streets:

  • Lake Avenue – North & south sides from Detroit Avenue to Viking Court 
  • Desmond Avenue – South side from Lake Avenue to West 89th Street
  • West 89th Street – East & west sides from Desmond Avenue to Detroit Avenue
  • West 87th Street – East & west sides from Lake Avenue to Detroit Avenue
  • West 85 Street – East & west sides from Lake Avenue to Detroit Avenue 
  • West 83rd Street – East side from Lake Avenue to Detroit Avenue 
  • West 83rd Street – West side from Detroit Ave to House # 1372
  • West 80th Street – East side from Lake Avenue to Detroit Avenue
  • West 79th Street – East side from Lake Avenue to a point approx. 250’ north
  • West 76th Street – East side from Lake Avenue to Rutledge Road
  • Elm Court – East side from Lake Avenue to a point approx. 200’ south
  • Detroit Avenue – North side from West 89th Street to West 80th Street  
  • Detroit Avenue – South side from West 87th Street to West 80th Street

The project scope is to replace the old steel mainline with new plastic mainline in the sidewalk area. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times on two lane side streets   with traffic control personnel in the work zone(s) directing traffic.  On Lake and Detroit Avenues, the curb lane will be occupied.  One lane of traffic flow in each direction will be maintained. A Law Enforcement Officer (L.E.O.) will be present at all signalized intersections. Access to adjacent driveways will be maintained throughout construction and the work will take place Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  

This project is scheduled for completion in December 2017.
