Police Chief Recognized
Cleveland celebrates the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. each year on the third Monday of January with free museums, community concerts, and regional theater presentations. The 2017 Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Celebration sponsored by the Cleveland Clinic was held at the InterContinental Hotel and Conference Center on Carnegie Avenue in Cleveland.
Delos M. Cosgrove, MD, President and CEO Cleveland Clinic, presented Calvin D. Williams, Chief of Police, City of Cleveland, with the Lifetime of Service Award at this year’s 2017 Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Celebration sponsored by the Cleveland Clinic. Chief Williams was recognized for his exemplary leadership and making a difference in the Cleveland community. Mayor Frank G. Jackson attended this year’s recognition celebration along with other City of Cleveland representatives.
The Cleveland Clinic’s Lifetime of Service Award was established to honor and thank a serving leader who has exhibited extraordinary strength of spirit and remarkable efforts in their public service as a visionary who fosters open dialogue of humanitarian causes; championed and advanced acts of commitment, compassion and sacrifice as an agent of change; and made significant contributions to the improvement in the quality of life and well being in the communities served by the Cleveland Clinic.
