Waste Collection to be Delayed for Memorial Day

The City of Cleveland Department of Public Works will not pick up waste Monday, May 25 due to the Memorial Day holiday. There will be a one day delay in the waste collection schedule - trash will be collected Tuesday, May 26 through Saturday, May 30. Regularly scheduled trash pick-up will resume on Monday, June 1. Questions regarding collection can be directed to the Division of Waste Collection at 216.664.3711.

The City of Cleveland has issued today a request for proposals (RFP) for a consultant to help reshape the West Side Market customer experience by evaluating existing practices and developing a strategic action plan to drive change at the Market.

The Department of Public Works is seeking an Operations Management consultant to assess the operational documents (see appendix) and develop an action plan with the goal of driving change at the market. This plan shall include but not be limited to the creation of a new scorecard to track progress of the initiatives listed in the approved strategic plan. These must be met to secure the foundation of being a successful premier public market.

No Waste Collection on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

The City of Cleveland Department of Public Works WILL NOT collect trash on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.  Waste collection for the remainder of that week will be delayed by one day, returning to its regular schedule on Monday, Jan. 27, 2020. Cleveland City Hall offices, including Cleveland Public Power and Cleveland Water will be closed on the holiday as well. Offices will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020.

Registration Now Open for Neighborhood Resource & Recreation Center Summer Programming

The City of Cleveland’s recently rebranded Neighborhood Resource & Recreation Centers are now offering expanded fall programming at all 22 of its centers. Expanded intergenerational programming - aimed at providing holistic resources to all residents, especially youth and young adults – includes job readiness and placements assistance, ACT/SAT prep, theater, photography, ballet, STEM workshops and more. Old favorites like aerobics, basketball, football and swimming are also available. Register in person or online at www.clevelandohio.gov/NRRCactivities. Some class sizes may be limited and early registration is advised. All programs are free.
